As part of the release of Phalanx Gen 2 we have been given permission to reveal that the Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan has selected the Geckota Phalanx as an official gift to be presented by His Majesty King Abdullah II. An advance batch of Gen 2 bespoke watches was sold several months ago to the RHC.

The contract was awarded after detailed discussions, computer designs and assessment of samples by the Royal Court. The watches supplied were of a unique design with the brand name Phalanx relocated to the top of the dial and the gold Crown of the Royal Court applied below the hands in place of the standard 300m depth text. These watches will never be for sale and can only be issued by His Majesty.

As the Royal watches are Phalanx Gen 2 they are subtly different to the original Gen 1. The new design features a more “graphite” colour for the dial and bezel which enhances the technical look, and a bezel equipped with 360 degree luminescent numerals giving more symmetry and greater reading accuracy in low light conditions. We will be publishing a full introduction to the new Phalanx very shortly. This has been a fascinating project to work on and it is a huge honour for Geckota to be selected by the Royal Court.
